The DVD Olomana Gardens Permaculture and Aquaponics provides a one-hour tour of the Waimanalo farm to help farmer Glenn Martinez spread the word that everything can work together for a sustainable future.

Martinez produced it in partnership with Al Cloutier, who also has a personal documentary project about sustainable food supplies in Hawaii. Martinez was one of the many interviews in that project.

“He said, how would you like to do a how-to DVD for me?“recalled Cloutier.“So we did the DVD, and he’s selling them like hotcakes. They’re just flying out of his hands, God bless him.”

Cloutier explained that the Martinez farm has a system where everything works in synergy in a symbiotic relationship. “The earthworms that he raises and sells eat the garbage; he feeds the earthworms to his chickens. The earthworms also eat the waste from the chickens - it’s self-perpetuating.”

Sales proceeds from the $24.95 DVD are divided equally between Martinez and Cloutier.

Cloutier uses his Olomana Gardens Permaculture and Aquaponics profits - as well as some funds from his day job managing Hawaii Kai Retirement Community - to complete Lono’s Bounty.
