Gallery ‘Iolani will showcase the works of 20 Maori artists in its latest exhibit at Windward Community College.

The show kicks off with a reception from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, presenting contemporary indigenous art from Aotearoa-New Zealand along with special guest artists from around the Pacific Rim. According to gallery staff, the exhibit displays “emerging young artists who are challenging the boundaries and identity of culture.”

The gallery is open from 1 to 5 p.m. weekdays and Monday and Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8. For more information, call 236-9155 or visit gallery.wcc.hawaii.edu.

The gallery also will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 1 during the Windward Ho’olaulea.
