The Kailua Elementary School PTSA will host its eighth annual Legends of Hawaiian Music concert from 5 to 9 p.m. May 7.

The open air “Concert Under the Stars” offers a wide range of Hawaiian music talent, including Eddie Kamae and the Sons of Hawaii, Alan Akaka, Noelani Mahoe, Nickie Hines Band, Keanu, 2 Big Hawaiians, Waimanalo Sunset Band, Hula Halau Puuwai Okahanuola and Uncle Mel Murata and the Palaka Ohana featuring the Keiki Palaka Band.

Guests also will enjoy a generous spread of traditional Hawaiian food. Each dinner plate - which is included with a $9 admission ticket - will have kalua pig, lomi salmon, rice, haupia, a banana muffin, sweet potato and pineapple. Soft drinks, bottled water, Spam musubi and shortbread cookies will be available for $1 each.

Tickets are limited and always sell out fast. For more information, call Murata at 266-7884 or 256-2276. Attendees are reminded that the school is a smoke-free zone, and while beach mats and chairs are OK, coolers and video cameras are prohibited.
