Paliku Theatre will produce Phantom of the Opera as its fall musical with Ron Bright directing, and auditions are scheduled next month.

Tryouts will begin at 6 p.m. June 27 and 28 for singers and dancers age 16 and older; some should be trained in ballet. Vocal auditions will be to an accompanyist, not a capella or recorded.

For details on auditions, call 235-7330.

Written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, the popular musical opened in 1986. It has been wildly successful throughout the world and is the longest-running musical on Broadway. The story centers around a beautiful singer and her mysterious admirer.

On the Windward Community College campus, it will run for at least four weekends starting Sept. 9. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets went on sale May 9 and may be reserved by phone at 235-7310 or by going to eTicketHawaii.com.
