Star Poets Should Get Crackin’

Cash, publication and fame are promised to youths who create poetry for the 12th annual Star Poets Contest, sponsored by Windward Community College, Hawaii Council for the Humanities and the Hawaii Writing Project.

Entries are due Jan. 27, 2012, for the Star Poets Contest. Up to three poems per person will be accepted from students in grades 3-12 statewide. Each poem should not exceed 20 lines. To obtain an entry form, go to the website windward.hawaii.edu/poets.


Mail entries to Star Poets Contest, c/o Susan St. John, WCC, 45-720 Keaahala Road, Kaneohe, HI 96744. The awards ceremony and public readings will be next May at Paliku Theatre.
