The Japanese nonprofit Heart Art Communication presents “Japanese Art Tapestry Festa in Hawaii” through Aug. 16 at Windward Community College featuring about 400 art pieces.

With so much to display, the collection is split between WCC’s Gallery ‘Iolani and Kapiolani Community College’s Lama Library. It features Sumi (black ink) paintings, calligraphy, western paintings, sculptures, crafts and prints.

The show has been to New York, Paris, Rome, Rothenberg, Mexico City, Seoul, Beijing, Vienna, Sofia, Barcelona, Moscow, Athens and Budapest. The group hopes it will foster cultural awareness and exchange.

The show is open from 1 to 5 p.m. weekdays on the Kaneohe campus (2369155) and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays through Aug. 17 at KCC (7349268). Admission is free.
