The Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii will host its fourth annual fundraiser for the Windward Clubhouse at 6 p.m. Sunday at Formaggio Grill in Kailua.

The event offers a Mardi Gras theme, heavy pupus and decorated masks and beads available in exchange for donations. There also will be a “Hurricane Bar"serving up rum-infused cocktails throughout the first hour.

“It’s almost like being in someone’s living room,“said Maureen Purington, director of the Windward facility,of the intimate setting.“It’s a really fun event to benefit the kids.”

She said the nonprofit hopes to raise at least $10,000 to put toward its programs for children ages 7 to 17. Individual tickets are on sale now for $125. For information on where to buy them, call 263-0555.

The Kailua clubhouse is one of 12 BGCH locations on Oahu and Kauai that engage youths in education, technology, career development and sports. According to its web-site, BGCH has nearly 4,800 members and assists an additional 5,000 children every year.
