Del.icio.usA lot more goes into an art exhibit than mounting paintings on a wall. For Kaneohe artist Marion Yee Larson, coordinator of the current show at Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden, it’s all about the four corners of the Earth and a central element that unites them. In ‘Eco by 5’ she picked four diverse artists with 2-D works (Jahn-Peter Preis, Mary Flynn, Joseph Singer and herself), and one 3-D (ceramist Dudley Smith-Preis). Gallery placement also was important, and keeping the message free of politics and religion. “It’s more about the health of the Earth,” she says, “and accepting what our planet is all about. I wanted a nice show that everyone can relate to.” See it daily through Nov. 30.
