It’s always a good formula to bring adults, food and wine together for the sake of our children.

When the Boys & Girls Club Windward Clubhouse had its first fundraiser last year at Formaggio Grill in Kailua, it brought in $11,000 to support its programs, which are offered after school and weekends at Kailua Intermediate School. This time 121 guests paid $125 each to party on Jan. 25 at the same congenial spot, and they had a great time at the martini bar (hosted by Better Brands) enhanced by music from Kenneth Makuakane.

They sipped wine and munched on what clubhouse director Maureen Purington declared were “spectacular” heavy pupus. All $7,000 raised is tax-deductible and great for the kids’ programs!
