Del.icio.usWindward’s own hardware company couldn’t be prouder than it was Oct. 28 at the grand opening of its Oneawa Street showroom. A crowd of about 200 in the parking lot witnessed the blessing by Kahu Papa John Halemano, the maile lei untying by David Lundquist and family, and then went surging into another world. “It was a wave of people just waiting to get in there,” recalls employee Clara Dias. “All of our hard work that went into this project — it produced a high-end wow factor.” Customers filed by the finest kitchens, bathrooms, cabinetry, flooring, decking and brand-name appliances throughout the day. The complete wine cellar was a hot topic. “It would make a wonderful Christmas present, don’t you think?” Dias said.
