Dozens of friends, colleagues and fans gathered with John Wisnosky’s family at a Remembrance Celebration Jan. 20 at Gallery ‘Iolani, where four decades of the late artist’s works are on view through Feb. 8. The posthumous retrospective, Little Seen, Less Seen, Unseen, is curated by Tom Klobe, a former student of the University of Hawaii art professor and director of the UH art gallery. Tom says the show’s collection is “just the tip of the iceberg” for the prolific and varied talents of Wisnosky, who died last year, not long after retiring as chair of the UH art department. The 50-piece show is an expression of friendship, and of the love he shared with his wife MiMi, daughter Mimi, grandson Sky and sonin- law Rick Chang.
