Members look forward to the Kailua Chamber of Commerce awards lunch with good reason. Recognition from peers is good for business, says awards chair Tonic Bille, and it makes them proud. A crowd of 90 at Mid-Pac Country Club Nov. 15 saw plaques of excellence presented for Quality Service — Lanikai Pilates Studio, owner Zohreh Ellison; Storefront of the Year — Lanikai Bath & Body Shop, owners Gloria Garvey and Brook Gramann; New Business of the Year — Aloha Salads, owners Chris and Sara Lufrano; and Kailua Town Beautification — Windward Ahupua‘a Alliance, founders Jim and Shannon Wood. More good news: Dues go down in 2007 to $200, which includes rack space at the Kailua Information Center.
