The newly renovated Ka‘ohao Ballroom at Mid-Pacific Country Club proved the perfect venue for the chamber’s Silent Auction and Wine Tasting March 18, according to Anna Lui, KCOC member who co-chaired the auction. “The items were all displayed beautifully,” she says, “and it was more spacious.” The 70 guests enjoyed several food stations and a pasta bar “to die for” along with their wine — which all made for a spirited night of bidding. The piano stylings of Freddie Alcantar also helped put the crowd into a generous mood. With only two months of planning time, Lui says “Under a LaniKailua Moon” still earned $2,500 for Kailua Chamber of Commerce programs, and they will likely make it an annual event. To join the chamber during its current membership drive, call Lui at 261-3334.
