The sold-out thrift shop fashion show Dec. 9 earned about $3,000 for outreach programs at St. Anthony’s Church and generated plenty of fun. “People donated so much to the show we had too many clothes to model — five racks full,” says outreach director Val Haole. Brand names, a bridal gown and even a mink stole were on display. Elin Farrell and her family coordinated the fourth annual show, which also had dinner prepared by chefs from The Captain’s Galley. “The Christmas season is looking really good,” says Haole. “Our families will be well taken care of.” Next up is food “shopping” day Dec. 22 for the needy and the church’s host week of Family Promise (Dec. 24-31). “At St. Anthony’s,” Haole says, “you ask, and you receive.”
