For 10 years, the Honolulu Waldorf School has counted on its spring fundraiser, Tastes & Treasures, to support the unique private school and its tuition assistance fund. Having the 2006 gala tasting and silent auction at the Kailua oceanfront estate of Honda Windward owner Morrie Stoebner and his wife Camille on May 6 was a lucky move apparently. Its 300 guests put the auction and ticket tally (at $100 per person) up to $60,000, much higher than last year’s proceeds, says Winslow Eliot, communications director. The Stoebners’ three grandchildren attend the Niu Valley school, as do many Windward Oahu residents. With thanks to auctioneer Joe Teipel, bidders also matched a foundation grant to establish Waldorf’s computer lab.
