Gaspar: Most Outstanding Tennis Athlete

Brigham Young University-Hawaii graduate Petra Gaspar has been named the Division II Tennis Most Outstanding Student-Athlete for her accomplishments in NCAA championship competition, the NCAA announced recently. The honor, which coincided with the NCAA’s 25th Anniversary of Women’s Championships celebration this month, takes into account outstanding performances over the past 25 years.


Gaspar led the Seasiders to three NCAA Division II Women’s Tennis National Championship team titles (1999, 2000, 2002) and one runner-up finish (2001).

Gaspar finished the 1999 and 2000 seasons ranked first in both singles and doubles. In 2001, she finished the year ranked first in doubles and fourth in singles. In 2002, she finished the year ranked fourth in singles and second in doubles.
