PW Honors for BYUH’s Peters, Coach Navalta

Brigham Young University-Hawaii’s junior outside hitter Michelle (Tuli) Peters has been named Pacific West Conference Player of the Year, and Seasider head coach Wilfred Navalta received Coach of the Year honors for this past season.


Joining Peters on the All-Conference First Team were teammates LeeAnn Mapu and Noelle Filimoeatu. Faylynn Merrick received Second Team honors, and Kaala Lo garnered Honorable Mention for the Seasiders. Peters and Ale are former Kahuku High School stand-outs.

Peters averaged 5.56 kills per game and 3.89 digs per game, while Mapu averaged 14.17 assists per game. BYU-Hawaii finished 20-1 for the season, with its only loss coming in the opening round of the NCAA II Pacific Regional.
