BYU-Hawaii’s Kyle Kunioka shot a one-over 73 (to earn medalist honors for the match) in leading the Seasiders over both Hawaii Pacific University and Chaminade University in men’s golf late last week. The match, which took place on the Palmer Course of the Turtle Bay Resort, was the last between the teams this season. The Seasiders shot a team total of 305 on the par 72 course to beat the Sea Warriors by 22 strokes and the Silverswords by 47 strokes.

In addition to Kunioka’s performance, Kahuku graduate Abel Soares carded scores of 75 on consecutive days for the Seasiders. The match marked the seventh time the Seasiders have taken first place during the fall and spring seasons this year. Kunioka is a former Kailua High School standout.

BYU-Hawaii will conclude its season this week at the Grand Canyon Invitational Tournament in Phoenix.
