The nationally ranked Brigham Young University-Hawaii women’s volleyball team will close out its regular-season home slate Friday night when the Seasiders host Pacific West Conference rival Chaminade University. The match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Cannon Activities Center.

BYUH moved up a slot to No. 3 in the latest NCAA II West Regional rankings. Although still undefeated heading into the weekend, the Seasiders trailed two California teams in the rankings, neither of which is undefeated.

The Seasiders are ranked ninth in the national poll conducted by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The NCAA II West Regional Poll is conducted separately from the national poll and takes into account only matches played within the region. The regional poll ultimately determines which teams are invited to the NCAA II tournament, with the top eight teams getting an invitation. Cal State-San Bernardino heads the poll, followed by UC San Diego and the Seasiders.

The NCAA Division II Western Regionals begin on Nov. 9. The Seasiders have won 10 national titles under coach Wilfred Navalta.
