Waiolama Makes All-Pac West 2nd Team

Hawaii Pacific University junior outfielder Puna Waiolama has been named a Second Team AllPac West selection.

A former Castle High School standout and Waimanalo resident, Waiolama was one of 10 members of the Sea Warriors to earn All-League honors. She had a fielding percentage of .962 and batted .258 with 13 runs batted in this past season.


Former Kailua star Courtney Kessell earned Honorable Mention recognition, while co-coaches Bryan Nakasone and Howard Okita were named Co-Coaches of the Year after leading HPU to the 2007 PAC West title.

HPU finished the season 34-16 and ranked No. 5 in the final NCAA West Region Poll. They participated in the NCAA West Region Tournament, falling in their final game to Humboldt State 3-2 in a 12-inning marathon.
