Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii

William C.A. Pieper II has been named vice president and wealth management consultant for Bank of Hawaii’s Trust and Private Banking Sales Department. He most recently served as president and owner of the Asset Enhancement Group.
Robert Stott has been elected president of the Rotary of Metropolitan Honolulu for the 2008-2009 term. Stott has been with Metro Rotary since 2001 and has served as vice president and president-elect, as well as leading grant writing initiatives. In addition to fulfilling his duties as president, he serves as vice president of commercial banking for American Savings Bank.
Melvin K. Harada has been promoted to senior vice president of Merchant Services for Bank of Hawaii. Harada will be responsible for managing and overseeing the bank’s Merchant Services Department, which includes sales, service, vendor management, compliance, risk management, accounting and financial support. He previously served as vice president of Merchant Services.
Richard Kagehiro has been elected president of the Rotary Club of Ala Moana. He also is a sales and marketing consultant for travel related companies and has been with the Rotary Club for the past 15 years. The 2008-2009 Rotary International theme is “Make Dreams Real.”
Kamna Upadhyaya has been named director of financial planning and analysis for Mobi PCS. Upadhyaya has nearly two decades of experience with multinational companies, taking on a variety of financial and management roles. In her new position, she will oversee all Mobi PCS forecasting and financial reporting. She previously served as senior vice president of Reliance Communications Limited in Mumbai, India.
Micah E. Young has been appointed business operations manager for Harbor Court Bistro. Young has diverse experience in the restaurant industry, as he previously worked for RUI Corp., Grand Cafe and Bakery, Shanghai Bistro and the Bistro at Century Center. He also has held several positions in administrative areas, including legislative aide at the Hawaii state House of Representatives.
Kunani S. Blake has been hired as general manager for Harbor Court Bistro. With 20 years in the food and beverage industry, Blake has experience working at Restaurants Unlimited Inc.; Dave and Buster’s Honolulu; Harley Davidson Cafe, Las Vegas, and Hard Rock Cafe in Honolulu, on Maui, in San Diego and in Las Vegas.
Martin Arinaga of Chinen & Arinaga Financial Group has been named the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) Insurance and Financial Advisor Professional of the Year. This prestigious award recognizes his leadership in the industry, experience, education, and commitment and success, among other qualities. Arinaga has been in the insurance financial services business for 25 years and has served on various NAIFA committees.
