Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii

Valen Ahlo has been named account executive for Hawaii Pacific Entertainment. In this position, Ahlo will be responsible for new sales and business development in the family of companies at HPE. Ahlo brings six years of experience as a tech support and operator for Crane Media Productions, with an expertise in Screenbooth technology. He previously worked as a marketing executive for visionaryclothing.com.
Andrew Sato has been hired as vice president for Hawaii Pacific Entertainment, where he will manage all business development and sales. For the past four years, he worked as an account executive with Visionary Related Entertainment and previously worked in sales for Game Stop.
Matty Liu has been hired as Hawaii’s field marketing representative for Primo Brewing & Malting Company. In this position, Liu will manage day-to-day operations for the company and coordinate retail, bar and restaurant promotions throughout the state. He has more than 10 years of marketing, events and promotions experience representing various lifestyle and surfing industry brands across the Islands.
Cara Tarumoto has been named controller for Hawaii Dental Service. Tarumoto has nearly 15 years of experience serving as a controller or assistant controller for large Hawaii companies, where she was responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting and financial reporting departments. Prior to joining HDS, she had served as assistant controller with the Hawaii Superferry.
Tom Woods has been appointed executive director for Mission Houses Museum. Woods previously worked as a supervisor in the Historic Sites Department for the Minnesota Historical Society, director of Old World Wisconsin and most recently headed the consulting firm Making Sense of Place Inc.
