Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii

Kaulana Park has been appointed senior vice president of community and business development for American Savings Bank. Park, brings nearly 25 years of experience in government, business development, community leadership, and retail banking to his new position. Park is charged with working with ASB’s executive team to expand the bank’s community development programs, and defining and implementing the bank’s strategy for providing clean energy financing.
Bonnie Osaki has been hired as manager of educational out-reach for Hawaiian Humane Society. Oskai’s role will include development, direction and management of educational partnerships. She also will present humane value programs to various community organizations, focusing on outreach programs to underserved areas such as Waianae, Kalihi and Waimanalo. Osaki has nearly 20 years’ experience in leading sales, marketing and education efforts at Graham Builders Inc. and Futurekids International.
James B. Wood, Ph.D., has been named associate director and director of education for Waikiki Aquarium. Wood is responsible for overseeing the aquarium’s live exhibits, education, graphics and information technology departments. With more than 10 years in the field, Wood is an experienced marine science educator and researcher on octopi and other cephalopods. Prior to joining Waikiki Aquarium, he served as director of education at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, Calif. Wood also previously served as assistant research scientist at the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS), providing mentorship to students and instructing courses in marine invertebrate zoology, independent research, and scientific photography.
Toby Laboy has been named manager of HawaiiUSA’s Kaneohe branch. Laboy was previously branch manager of HawaiiUSA’s Kaimuki branch. He has been with HawaiiUSA for 13 years.
