Dara Y. Fukuhara has been named chairwoman of the board for the Statewide Independent Living Council of Hawaii. She is an account executive with Communications Pacific.

Brandon Arakaki has joined Cowabunga! Computers as an onsite residential PC repair technician. His past employment includes working at Byte Ware and Pure Digital.

Sean Patnode has joined Cowabunga! Computers as an onsite commercial network and LAN specialist. He will be servicing commercial clients with servers, networks and desktops.

Vanessa Ishii has joined Cowabunga! Computers as an office and administrative assistant. She has previous experience working with many Silicon Valley start-ups.

Ahmad Yu has been promoted to director of quality and innovation from manager of quality assurance and product innovation for Hawaiian Host. He has more than 20 years of experience in the industry.

Pia Angelica Kaina has joined Hawaiian Host as quality assurance supervisor. She served previously as a laboratory technician for Meadow Gold Dairies.

Cheryl Oncea has been named ad director at Pacific Business News. Her past employment includes working as sales director at KHON.

Russ Robertson has joined Servco Insurance Services as senior vice president. He previously worked with Aon Consulting.

Jon Fukagawa has joined First Hawaiian Bank as vice president in the commercial real estate division. Fukagawa has more than six years of financial and banking experience.
