Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii

Lloyd Fujie has been promoted to the position of senior vice president for operations and chief financial officer at Hawaii Pacific University. He previously served as vice president and chief financial officer. He will be responsible for long-range planning, developing a decentralized budgetary system for the university, providing oversight of the Oceanic Institute, and continuing his stewardship of financial health.
Shira Aspesi has been named operations manager in the administrative services division for Island Insurance Company. Aspesi will be responsible for office services within the company including scanning, supplies, facility management, mailroom and commercial central file areas.
Calvert Chun has been named regional development manager for the Hawaii region of McDonald’s Restaurants of Hawaii. He previously worked for Sprint Nextel as a project manager.
Jason Kott has been promoted to assistant vice president for Atlas Insurance Agency. Kott will continue to be responsible for servicing Atlas Construction clients as well as generating new opportunities for Atlas Construction Services.
Shelley Wilson has been selected as 2007 president for the board of the Organization of Women Leaders. She is the president and founder of Wilson Homecare.
Jason Kagihara has been appointed as chef de cuisine for Mariposa restaurant at Neiman Marcus. His past employment includes working at Fullers Restaurant, Earth & Ocean, Lark, and W Honolulu.
Duane Kawamoto joins Neiman Marcus as food and beverage manager, overseeing operations of all three dining outlets. He previously worked at Sergio’s Italian Restaurant, and L’Uraku.
Jon Gersonde has been promoted to general manager of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. He joined the Royal Hawaiian as hotel manager in November 2005. His past work experience includes serving as complex general manager of the Westin Mission Hills Resort and Spa in California, and general manager of the Kapalua Bay Hotel & Ocean Villas.
Richie Miyagawa has been named welcome office manager for W Honolulu Diamond Head. He will manage the front desk, concierge and valet services. Miyagawa started his career with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Hawaii in 1997 as a valet for the W Honolulu Diamond Head.
Raymond Trombley has been certified as a master business continuity professional. He is a senior vice president and manager of corporate business continuity for Bank of Hawaii. He joined the firm in 1998.
Ben Kashiwabara has been hired as vice president and loan officer in the commercial real estate division of Bank of Hawaii. He has more than 20 years of income property lending experience. He previously worked as vice president of income property loans for Union Bank in Los Angeles.
