The Waikiki Shell will light up Friday and Saturday as KCCN FM 100’s Birthday Bash returns for the 20th year

Cap off summer break with the KCCN FM 100 Birthday Bash 20 and party it up at Waikiki Shell with Hawaii’s favorite entertainers.

The two-night birthday celebration is stacked. The lineup for Friday, July 30, features Kapena, Rebel Souljahz, Natural Vibrations, Kolohe Kai, Maoli, Koa’uka, and the Friday Birthday Bash MVPs (Christian Yrizzary, Tanoa Kapana, Mailani Makainai and Taz Vegas). The lineup for Saturday July 31 features Fiji, The Mana’o Company, Ho’aikane, Na Wai, The Green Band, Nesian N.I.N.E., Kawao, B.E.T., Anuhea, and the Saturday Birthday Bash MVPs (Bruddah Waltah, Sistah Robi, Sean Na’auao and Ernie Cruz Jr.).

And to celebrate a momentous 20 years, between sets this year’s shows will introduce DJ Mike D to spin music mixed with video. And the audience will be surrounded by a light show and treated to projection screens and surfaces that will present the latest in concert video and lighting technology.

“Every year we upgrade the show and add to it, and this year is no different,” says Rick Schneider, CEO of Events International, the show’s producer. “We always approach the Bash as a total experience. We always strive to entertain all the senses and create an environment that embodies the party atmosphere that this music is designed for. The cutting-edge light show and video are in some ways what our audience has come to expect, and it’s what they deserve from the FM100 Birthday Bash.”

Anuhea makes her Birthday Bash debut on Saturday

The KCCN FM100 Birthday Bash has been the most consistently successful local concert series ever, selling out every year. It seems that its popularity stems from its talented bill of performers, outrageous party atmosphere and surprise guests.

Besides, what’s a birthday party without a few surprises?

“I’m so amped to be a part of the 20th anniversary Birthday Bash” says Anuhea, the rising star who took home three Na Hoku Hanohano Awards this year for her self-titled debut album. “This year has been amazing for me, and to play for the huge crowd KCCN brings will be one of the best of those amazing moments.”

The Green Band joins the star-studded Saturday line-up

The shows start on both nights at 5:30. Ticket prices for each show are $25 for lawn seating and $27 for reserved terrace seating. Special two-show admission tickets are available at $38 for lawn, $40 for terrace. Group (10 or more) lawn tickets are available at $18 per ticket or $15 per ticket for both nights. For concert information and updates, visit kccnfm100.com. Tickets available at all Ticketmaster locations or online at ticketmaster.com.

“In all, it will be filled with great performances and quite a few surprises that will make it a memorable evening,” adds Schneider.
