Ala Moana Center celebrates its landmark 50th anniversary Aug. 13 at 5:30 p.m with a special birthday celebration at Centerstage featuring a traditional Hawaiian blessing, multicultural entertainment and a ceremony to recognize the center’s remaining 11 original businesses — Crack Seed Center, Dairy Queen, Foodland, Longs, Reyn’s, Sears, Shirokiya, Slipper House, Territorial Savings Bank, U.S. Post Office and Watumull’s.
