Wayland Baptist University will have an open house Feb. 4 to celebrate the official opening of its new Mililani campus.

The new 9,000-plus square-foot building takes over for the university’s former Aiea location and offers associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. The school was named one of the Best Places to Work in Hawaii by Hawaii Business magazine and a Military Friendly School by Military Times EDGE magazine.

“Wayland Baptist University-Hawaii has served the people of Hawaii for 32 years,” said David Howle, the college’s executive director and campus dean. “As the delivery of education changes with times, the excellence and quality of our undergraduate and graduate programs will still remain at the highest level.

“We invite the local ohana and community to join us at this special event and learn more about the benefits and quality of our educational programs that also offer value and very competitive tuition costs.”

Ceremonies will begin at 3 p.m. at 95-1091 Ainamakua Drive. For more information, call 488-8570.

On the program at the open house is live entertainment, hula, a maile lei-cutting ceremony, campus tours and light appetizers and refreshments.

Honolulu Police Chief Louis M. Kealoha (a Wayland Baptist graduate) will greet visitors as will state Sens. Mike Gabbard and Michelle Kidani.
