Music meets ballet at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Paliku Theatre when Chamber Music Hawaii presents the Onium Ballet Project performing Appalachian Spring.

“The complete ballet includes some fantastic music not often heard,” said CMH president Jim Moffitt.

Onium artistic director and choreographer Minou Lallemand has worked with 15 dancers in a story of small-town life, love and war’s tragic loss - supported by 13 musicians, directed by Stuart Chafetz, Honolulu Symphony Orchestra principal timpanist and also resident conductor of the Milwaukee Symphony.

University of Hawaii piano professor Thomas Yee serves as accompanist.

Intermission will feature refreshments, and the audience can meet the performers after the show.

Tickets are $35 and $30 in advance, or $40 and $35 at the door. Call 489-5038.
