Four Windward parks will serve as core collection sites for the March 19 Project C.L.E.A.N., sponsored by the District 4 Community Policing Team.

The community-wide cleanup and graffiti paint-out will run from 8 to 11 a.m. at Kahaluu Regional Park and at the Kaneohe, Kailua and Waimanalo district parks.

Standing for Community Lokahi to Enrich our Aina Now, Project C.L.E.A.N. was initiated by HPD chief Louis Kealoha to bring communities together and build partnerships while cleaning up the neighborhoods.

Volunteers are welcome at all four sites. At KEY Project next to the Kahaluu park, for example, coordinators invite people to bring their weed-whackers and paint rollers and brushes, as will as donations of refreshments. For details, call KEY at 239-5777.

For more information, call Sgt. Duane Samson at 723-8874 or the district policing team at 262-6555.
