Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church has revived the festival to its patron saint and will celebrate from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 16 with the community.

The last time the parish hosted the event was more than a decade ago, but the congregation decided it’s about time to bring back the tradition. Plus, they now have their own priest, Paulo Kosaka from the Order of St. Francis.

The event will include entertainment by the band Simplicity and church choir members. There will be food booths with malassadas and $10 Hawaiian plate lunches, along with a bake sale, plant sale, rummage sale, children’s games and a silent auction. Scrip costs 50 cents each.

Free parking is available on the church grounds, 48-422 Kamehameha Hwy. in Waikane.

For more information, call Carol at 358-3522 or Charlotte at 554-4013.
