The Wyland Waikiki, Hawaii’s first art-design hotel, hosted Art on the Avenue Jan. 11 in celebration of Wyland’s newest original. The event included entertainment by Willie K and a silent auction benefiting Wyland Foundation and Kokua Hawaii Foundation. Pictured at left are Outrigger president David Carey and Wyland. The renowned marine artist has homes in Hawaii, Laguna Beach and the Florida Keys. When asked how often he’s in Hawaii, he says, “When the whales come, I come”
