Kaleo Pilanca of Island 98.5 hosted Windward Mall’s Comedy Afternoon on Sunday with comedians Frank De Lima, Andy Bumatai and Da Braddahs. Kaleo, who was born and raised in Waiahole, attended St. Ann’s (located across the street from the mall) for elementary and intermediate school. “My mom was a bookkeeper for Honsport, so after school I would come here, play games at Tilt, eat the teri beef special at Orange Julius and fall asleep watching TV at Sears until my mom got off from work,” remembers Kaleo. “I felt really safe here.”
