Last weekend I blew a tire at Market City Shopping Center. In just minutes, three “angels” appeared and changed it for me. In fact, they were so fast I still made it to my doctor appointment. I did get their names, but I don’t know how to reach any of them. I believe they are students and therefore are not listed in the directory. I had no money at the time, but I do now, so I want to contact Mike Dela Cruz, Donny Dadiz and Moke Silva.

Dear Pamela,
We had stopped in Kailua before we were to meet our friend for dinner. When we returned to our car, it would not start. After trying many times, we finally decided that we needed to call AAA. The problem seemed to be the battery.
Just then Joe appeared and came to our aid. He got the jumper cable from his truck, was able to get our car started and we were able to be at dinner on time!
Thank you, Joe, from the bottom of our hearts. You were truly our guardian angel, helping strangers in need. We will always remember your kindness.

I am a third-generation manager at Highway Inn, a 61-year-old Hawaiian restaurant in Waipahu, a local restaurant with a genuine ohana atmosphere. It is not uncommon for customers to pick up the bills of others they run into here. Today, though, there was a customer named Yvonne Toyama who asked to pay for a table’s bill. I assumed that they knew each other and took the payment. After she left, I asked five-time Iraqi veteran OS1 (SW) Maka McCoy, who was in his uniform, how he knew this woman, and he said he didn’t; she just wanted to pay his bill. I think it’s these nice, little, unexpected acts of kindness that bring warmth to others and encourage others to pass on the kindness.
