Read Column>>I took my Auntie Nancy to lunch at Young’s Kalbee in Aiea. We were having a great time eating and talking about family matters and life in general. A young lady and young girl sat at the next table. When I went up to pay for our meal, the owner asked if I knew my fellow diner, to which I replied I didn’t. She relayed that the lady enjoyed our conversation so much that she wanted to pay for our lunch and left $20 with a “God bless you” and a smile face drawn on a napkin.
Read Column>>The other night my son and I were completing final chores at a house we recently moved from in Kaimuki. We were tired and hungry, so on the way home to our new address, I decided to stop for a sandwich at Subway on 11th Avenue. It was nearly 9 p.m., and the staff had already begun to put away the sandwich items.
