A Lei From Lina Girl

Dear Pamela,
I was celebrating my birthday with dinner at Ruby Tuesday’s in Windward Mall. I saw Lina Girl and her husband, Braddah Sam, at the same restaurant and thought, how wonderful to see celebrities on my birthday. Lina Girl was wearing a beautiful, fragrant pikake lei. As she passed my booth, I smiled at her and told her I enjoy watching her commercials. She graciously stopped and thanked me. I asked her what was the special occasion for wearing such a lovely lei. She told me it was her birthday and her ninth wedding anniversary. I shared with her that I was also celebrating my birthday. We hugged each other and then Lina generously gave me her pikake lei. We hugged again and wished each other a very happy birthday. I was so touched by her aloha.

Dear Linda,
“I’m a full-on Kaneohe girl and was so looking forward to eating great food at Ruby Tuesday’s with my entire family,” says Lina Girl. “I just wanted to share that enjoyment with Linda, who was so friendly and sweet. I wish I had had more leis to give out!”
Dear Pamela,
I wish to take this opportunity to thank the kind, compassionate cashier at Price Busters on Fort Street Mall. Busy as she was, she called a cab for me. I am a senior citizen, 83 years old, and had just wrenched my knee. I was in excruciating pain. In my hurry to get to the corner to meet the cab I failed to get the name of the cashier. I believe all good deeds should be recognized.

Dear Rebecca,
Your angel at the downtown Price Busters was Laurie Robley. “We’re here to help,” she says, “whatever way we can.”
Dear Pamela,
Several weeks ago I lost my wallet while visiting a doctor at Queen’s. After a futile search, I was ready to start the dreaded task of replacing my credit cards and driver’s license. Just then a guy knocks on my door and he has my wallet! Not only does he find the wallet, but drives to my home to return it. He deserves APPLAUSE. He refused a reward. Gene Osako also gave me this advice: Always carry your wallet in your front pocket. Thanks!

Dear Edwin,
“Was nothing,” says Gene Osako, who’s a carpenter by day. “I went to the hospital and parked my car next to his. As I got out I saw the wallet on the ground. I was late for my appointment so I just tossed the wallet into my car. Afterward I saw his address. Anybody would have done it.”
