An Honestly Great Staff At Roy’s

After arriving home from a birthday party at Roy’s Restaurant in Hawaii Kai, I discovered I had lost one of my jade earrings. Since I had previously lost another earring at another restaurant without any success in finding it, I felt attempting to locate this one would be in vain. However, I phoned Roy’s. The party answering the phone said, “We’re cleaning right now and will phone you as soon as possible.”
In 10 minutes I received the call. “Yes, we found your jade earring and will hold it in a safe place until you pick it up.”
How elated I was! This was a piece of jewelry given to me by my sister before she passed away. Not only is Roy’s food some of the best in Honolulu, it also has the best employees! Thank you to all the employees involved in discovering my earring. My cup runneth over!

Dear Pamela,
I just wanted to recognize a lady who made my day recently. I was having a very stressful experience at one of the satellite city halls, and after making a call to the central DMV and being transferred several times, Mrs. Okami, or as she calls herself, the “Wild Lady,” really came through and made my day. She was extremely helpful and was the first government employee who’s ever encouraged me to “make waves”!

Beatrice Okami, who’s been a supervising motor vehicle registration clerk at the Department of Motor Vehicles for 33 years, says it’s all a part of her job. “Mr. Chen is in the military and had a problem with his leased car,” she says. “I called the satellite city hall and determined that the problem was in the paperwork, so we were able to waive a penalty fee.”
Beatrice’s boss, licensing administrator Dennis Kamimura, has high praise for “the Wild Lady.” “She’s always helping people. She knows the law and helps people understand it.”
