Angels Who Lend A Helping Hand

Aloha Pamela,
Earlier this year I attended the Prime Time Health Seniors’ Fair at the Blaisdell. Somewhere near the auditorium I dropped a plastic packet containing my Medicare, HMSA Medical & Drug and Blood Type cards. My Social Security number was on the Medicare card, which caused me some concern. I prayed another senior would find my cards and either destroy them or mail them to HMSA. Indeed, later in the week I received an envelope from HMSA with all my cards.
I want to thank that person, senior or not, for the kindness and thoughtfulness he or she displayed. I have included that person, name unknown, in my daily prayers and ask you to give her or him a big, big, big round of APPLAUSE.
Thank you!

Hello, Pamela!
I recently misplaced my phone at the Wal-Mart in Mililani, and luckily for me, a wonderfully honest person turned it in to customer service. The employee it was given to called my mom’s phone and let me know where to claim it.
I didn’t get the employee’s name or the name of the person who turned it in, but if they see this, I just wanted them to know their honesty is greatly appreciated!
Mahalo!

Dear Pamela,
My mother was walking home from Chinatown and was crossing Aala Street.
A couple in a car waved her to cross the street and as she took a couple of steps, she fell face down. The couple came to her aid and called 911, and also went out of their way to call my oldest sister to notify her of what had happened to my mother. They also tried to stop the bleeding on my mom’s head by direct pressure until help arrived.
My sisters and I would like to send out a great big mahalo to the kind couple, the police officers, the firefighters, the paramedics, and the staff at the Hawaii Medical Center East for taking such good care of our mother. My mom is healing well and is embarrassed but thankful to these people.
May God bless each and every one of you.

Dear Cybil, JaNae and Dorothy,
There is one code of honor that exists in nearly every book of scriptures, in nearly every ancient culture. It’s said many ways in different languages, but the message has been embraced through the centuries as pure wisdom. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Your anonymous angels know that the giver as well as the receiver of a helping hand are equally blessed.
(If you know someone who deserves some Applause, send your letters to Pamela Young, MidWeek Applause, KITV, 801 S. King St., Honolulu, HI, 96813 or e-mail pyoung@kitv.com. Include your name, phone number and, if possible, the phone number of your “applaudee” so we can contact him or her.)
