Thank goodness for such caring people who came to my aid when I had an accident in Pearl City. Steve immediately checked to see the extent of the injury and administered first aid. Melanie appeared, called 911 and sought ice from nearby vendors to apply to my injury. They both stayed until the ambulance arrived. Lori, Steve’s wife, patiently waited and offered words of assurance. I am truly grateful to them and the vendor and want them to know how much I appreciate them. I’m hoping they’ll see this letter.

Hi Pamela:
I was heading home from helping my mom clean her house and heard a funny noise coming from the passenger side of my car. I pulled over on a side street and wouldn’t you know it, my rear passenger tire was as flat as a pancake. I called my husband and started to take all my junk out of my trunk, but before I could finish Michelle and her son Titus from Aiea appeared and offered to change my tire. They changed my tire in no time. I tried to pay them, but they refused. They not only changed my tire for me, but their three big dogs entertained my girls in the meantime.
Please pass on a very special APPLAUSE to Michelle and Titus and a very special MAHALO from me for their generous spirit and aloha. They have renewed my belief that the aloha spirit is alive and well.

Dear Pamela,
I witnessed a heartwarming scene at Windward City Shopping Center. I was at the bus stop waiting for TheBus to take me to Windward Mall. There were about six boys and one girl, jumping around, making noise and just being normal teenagers. Then something happened that just blew me away. Nearby were several Goodwill donation bins filled to the gills. Suddenly one of them fell over onto a man standing beside it. Within seconds that group of youngsters was there helping to upright the bin and get the man out. They picked all the items up that were scattered all over the place and made sure the man was all right.
I thanked them for caring so much. Then we all got on TheBus. The point I am trying to make is you can’t judge a book by its cover.
