Anonymous Angels On The Highway

I had to visit Queen’s Hospital for an orthopedic appointment for my wrist. When it came time to pay for my parking ticket at the kiosk, not only was I fiddling around in my purse with my wrist brace on, but I realized I didn’t have any cash on me. The nice gentleman standing behind me offered to pay for my parking. His name is Jan and was wearing a Pitney Bowes shirt. I just want to say a big “THANK YOU” to him for his generosity.

Just wanted to offer my heartfelt thanks to the angel who came to my rescue when my car was stuck on speed control on the far right lane of Kalanianaole Highway just before Laukahi Street. In my distraction, I didn’t get his name or license number, but the good Samaritan had a lovely new black truck. He parked his truck on the shoulder and then single-handedly pushed my car safely out of traffic.
A while later, a friendly police officer also stopped. When the tow truck came, he confirmed how dangerous Kalanianaole is and how lucky I was that my car had been pushed to the shoulder. Thanks again to the kind young man who was such an angel! My mechanic was able to put the speed control wires back into place and tie them down so they don’t get out of position and cause the dangerous situation again.

Dear Pamela,
One evening I was making a left turn from the Aiea Public Library onto Moanalua Road. I hit the sidewalk curbing with the right front wheel of my car, causing the tire to tear. When I parked to check the damage, a car stopped behind me, and a young man offered to help me without hesitation. He took out the spare tire and jack from my trunk and proceeded to change the tire. Because of his efficiency, it took only 15 minutes. His mother, who was with him, also assisted by putting the damaged tire in my trunk.
I was too flustered at the time to properly thank or reward Josh and Elma, so I would now like to expressed my (belated) aloha and mahalo to them for their kindness and caring toward this senior citizen. They truly displayed the “Aloha Spirit.”
