Another Soldier To The Rescue

I would like to extend a sincere APPLAUSE and thanks to Spc. Chris Marsh, stationed at Schofield Barracks, for coming to my assistance. I was on my way home from work after a 10-hour day and the sun was just about to set when I had a blowout coming down Kam Highway toward Haleiwa. I knew I couldn’t change the tire because of recent back surgery, so I called my husband. He was about 25 minutes away and it would have been dark by the time he arrived. Afew minutes later Spc. Marsh stopped and asked if I needed help. He changed my tire, then advised me to get air in the spare as soon as possible. I drove slowly with the low air tire and when I got down into Haleiwa, he was waiting at the gas station. It didn’t have air, so he told me to go to a gas station down the road. He asked if I wanted him to follow me there and put air in my tire. I tried to pay him after he completed his kind act, but he wouldn’t accept. I commend him for coming to my rescue. What a great soldier!

Army Spc. Chris Marsh says the side of the road is no place for a lady. “I saw her sitting there and put myself in her shoes,” he says. Chris, originally from a small town north of Sacramento, Calif., is scheduled for deployment to Iraq at the end of the year.
Dear Pamela,
While driving home, I suffered a severe panic/anxiety attack on H1-Westbound. Although prone to anxiety attacks, I’ve never experienced one of this level - I truly believe I was suffering a seizure or a stroke. I pulled off the highway between the Kunia and Makakilo exits, scared out of my mind. I called 911, and after what seemed like a lifetime saw a yellow emergency truck pull up. One of the first responders was a man named “K. Ho” who rushed to me and talked me through what I was experiencing. It was extremely overwhelming! As the para-medics drove up, followed by a police officer who I only remember from his last name (Ancog). I wish I could remember all of these “angels” who came to my rescue, even graciously answered my cell phone when my extremely concerned husband called from Robins AFB in Georgia.
HPD Officer Ancog stayed by my side, and when it was deemed that I could safely drive he volunteered to escort me to my home! I am extremely grateful for the kind, loving, compassionate way they handled this situation! I literally owe my life to each and every one of them! This 42-year-old Air Force military wife is eternally grateful to the “service” they afforded me!

Although it’s a part of their jobs, offering support and aid can be equally gratifying to our fine emergency responders. HPD Officer Kevin Ancog and paramedics Jared Nakamura and Jeff Hughes were your caring angels that night.
Dear Pamela,
This past weekend I went to Easy Corners to pick up some items. After loading everything in the trunk I drove off with my wallet on the roof of my car. I didn’t notice anything until four blocks away attempting to purchase something from McDonald’s. I immediately started driving back to Easy Corners, praying ever so hard and asking the good Lord to please help me find my wallet and keep it safe! I called Easy Corners to ask if they could check the stall I was in as well as the surrounding driveway, but to my dismay they found nothing. Then I received a phone call from my daughter saying a man named Frank Dennis called and said he found my wallet. He said he would meet me at the service area of Cutter Ford. I spun in and there he was my angel waving my wallet in the air. I thanked him repeatedly and proceeded to give him a token of my appreciation. He said, “No, no, no ... it was my pleasure, have a good day and God bless you!” How is that, huh, Pamela!? My angel does the good deed and tells me God bless you on top of that! Well, to you, Frank, I say, “The joy and blessings that you give to others are the joy and blessings that will come back to you!” Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart, Frank, and may God bless you!

Dear Lynn,
Army Capt. Frank Dennis says he was in the right place at the right time. “I just happened to be a Pearlridge Cutter Ford because my wife’s car needed some work. I saw that pocketbook and knew it was going to be a bummer for someone. Her daughter’s phone number was listed under emergency contact, and fortunately she wasn’t too far away.”
