Dear Pamela,
Lorelei and Rhonda of American Savings Bank in Pearl City are two wonderful angels who went out of their way to help my granddaughter and me when my granddaughter became ill. They were very patient and tended to my granddaughter with so much love and affection. We are ever so grateful for them. I hope that their lives will be blessed in so many ways. They deserve all the APPLAUSE.

Dear Pat,
Pearl City American Savings personal banker Lorelei Galanto and personal banking officer Rhonda Ferreira are happy your granddaughter is feeling better. “We all have kids,” says Rhonda, “so we know what it’s like to have a little crisis. Her granddaughter was very young, about 15 months old, and a little fussy when Mrs. Kurisu came into the bank. Our customers are like family, so it was a natural reaction to jump up and help.”
Aloha Pamela,
This thank you is a long time in coming, but it is no less sincere. I want to thank the staff at Pali Momi Medical Center at Pearl Ridge for all they did to make the last few days of my longtime companion, Hsiu “Sue” Ying Gatewood, as comfortable as possible.
I want to give an extra mahalo to nurse Mai-Lee Ericksson, who made it easier for Sue but also for myself and her family. You can not imagine the compassion she showed us all through this ordeal. I know that Sue is resting in peace because of Mai Lee and her co-workers. They made it possible for Sue to depart this world without pain or suffering. Thank you.

Dear Anson,
“I am very honored you mentioned me,” says nurse Mai-Lee Ericksson of Pali Momi Medical Center. “I would like to send my heartfelt condolences for your loved ones. Hsiu ‘Sue’ Ying Gatewood was a great woman and very loved. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. I have been at Pali Momi Medical Center for the past three years, and became a nurse because I always enjoyed working with people and wanted to learn how to provide medical care.”
Aloha Pamela,
I was so elated upon reading the MidWeek article on the care Ms. Garcia received from Kaiser Moanalua Medical Center. I am proud to say that I work with excellent teams of health care providers who strive to give the best care to all of our patients.
While I fully agree that we have top-notch employees at our Emergency Room department, we also have superb staffs in the inpatient units.
And that’s why I feel the need to write to you to give clarity and credit to deserving individuals as mentioned by Ms. Garcia. They are the nurses in “One West,” one of the MedSurg units. They are: Patty Caranto, Carol Pagdilao (not Carl Lorenzo), Marlon Edrada, Heather Paredes, Wendy Lehano, Maggie Nalumen (not Maddie Leiato), JR Tabonda, Michael Vierra, Mr. Campos. These are among the many who had the pleasure of taking care of Ms. Garcia.
