Dear Pamela,
The family of Gail Yoshida, the missing Pearl City woman, thanks the Police Department, Fire Department, Sheriffs’ Department, Land and Natural Resources, Public Safety, Search and Rescue Teams, Volunteer Canine Units, Hawaii Trail Club, Pearl City High School, e-mail network and the many families, relatives, friends and even strangers who came out to help in the search for Gail. We also appreciate the television stations, newspapers and other media who kindly publicized our plea to help find Gail. We were overwhelmed by how the community came together to help us search relentlessly, endlessly and tirelessly for Gail. From the bottom of our hearts, we deeply thank all of you very much!

Dear Sharon,
May your family find strength in this difficult time. May the guidance of Rev. Harold Karimoto of Shinnyoen Hawaii allow you to find peace and solace.
Dear Pamela,
My family and I went to Wet & Wild water park on May 9. I decided to hop on one of those huge plastic inner tubes that float around a little island. I’m a 73-year-old grandma and getting on the tube was no problem, it was getting off it! As I struggled, I saw a young boy watching me. I called to him and said, “Hold this tube and you can have it!” He grabbed on to the tube to help me, then suddenly the tube and I cap-sized and I was underwater! I had on my expensive bifocals and now they were gone somewhere in the water. The boy released my tube and swam away.
As I walked toward the exit, I heard a soft voice saying “Here.” It was the same boy. He was holding my glasses. I was blown away. Before I could say anything, he swam away. That day he became my hero. I thank his mother for that boy. I’m hoping I can find him. I would like to thank him properly.
