Dear Pamela,
“Applause” and “Mahalo” shout-outs go to Valerie, her mom and aunt, who found my Hello Kitty wallet full of yen and a debit card at the Keeaumoku Walmart and returned it to me in its entirety!
I realized that I was missing it when I searched for my card to make a purchase. While backtracking my steps around town, I received a call from a representative at my financial institution and was told that Valerie had found my wallet, and that she had called in to cancel my card for me and was wanting to return it to its owner.
I thank these three ladies for their integrity, honesty and valuable time.
Valerie, Mom and Auntie, thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness and for being a wonderful example to us all. I will do my best to follow your footsteps and seek out to do good deeds for those near and far!

Dear Pamela,
I was driving up Kaahumanu Street when a motorcyclist yelled at me that one of my tires was flat. He stopped oncoming cars for me so that I could drive into the corner gas station. One man came forward and said, “I can help you. Where is your car?” He helped fill my tire with air, paid the 75 cents and refused to take my money. I failed to get their names so I’d like to thank these two kind gentlemen. A big, big mahalo for being so kind.

Aloha Pamela,
I want to giveAPPLAUSE to this column because I appreciate that good can come out of bad situations. To state these happenings in MidWeek truly brightens my day. Thank you!
Just wanted to share this with readers: Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without even knowing it. (Hebrews 13:2.) I have had incidents happen where I truly believe it may have been an angel I met. And other people have told me their stories.

Dear Jacqueline, Elsie and Becka,
Mahalo for sharing your stories and comments with MidWeek readers. The best reward to your anonymous angels is to use their kind gestures as inspiration to pay it forward.
(If you know someone who deserves some Applause, send your letters to Pamela Young, MidWeek Applause, KITV, 801 S. King St., Honolulu, HI, 96813 or e-mail pyoung@kitv.com. Include your name, phone number and, if possible, the phone number of your “applaudee” so we can contact him or her.)
