Dear Pamela,

I would like to thank the person who found my purse in the restroom at Times Supermarket at Kahala. The person did not leave a name or any other contact information with Times customer service. But I am truly grateful and appreciative for the honesty and aloha of this fine person. I hope good fortune and health follows this person in all his/her endeavors. Also, thanks to customer service at Times for their assistance.

Aloha Pamela,

I stopped at Foodland Kailua to buy a flower birthday gift. After paying for it, I forgot to pick up the rose until the cashier handed it to me. Then when I walked out of the store, another customer hurried after me to return my wallet! Mahalo to all for their kindness to a forgetful senior.

Aloha Pamela,

I read APPLAUSE in MidWeek faithfully. It is a great outlet for good deeds. Here is mine: I took my elderly wife to the Kahala DLS lab to get a blood test. Upon entering the crowded waiting room, we took a number and prepared to wait. Our number was 35. This kind lady noticed that my wife was in poor condition, so she suddenly stood and took our No. 35 and gave us her No. 23, which was the next number to be called.

What an outstanding act of kindness. I hope she reads this and knows how much we appreciated what she did.

Hi Pamela,

A few weeks ago, I went to Longs at Kam Shopping Center. The lot was full, so I had to park at the far end, near the bank. I had to pick up a lot of stuff, including several cases of drinks. I am eight months pregnant. When I stepped outside, it was pouring! I quickly pushed my full cart toward the parking and it completely stopped! The security locks had kicked in and the cart would not budge out of the middle of traffic!

I was struggling to move out of the way and getting soaked from the rain. Then, a nice young man came to my rescue. He moved my cart and carried all of my items all the way to my car. I felt so bad that he was getting wet on top of carrying all of my stuff, and worse yet, I couldn’t locate my keys. He patiently waited as I apologized and thanked him for helping me.

He assured me that he was fine and did it because he would want someone to help his wife if she was

ever in need. Unfortunately, I did not catch his name, but just wanted to make note of his kindness. If he reads this, thank you sooooo much again!
