Dear Pamela,
I recently traveled to Kauai with my elderly mother, who has a hard time walking. I would like to thank the Hawaiian Airlines staff for being so kind and caring to her. During our boarding there were two angels working at the gate who changed our seats so my mother could sit in the front of the plane, which made things easier for her. I also would like to thank the flight attendant angel who made sure my mother watched her step getting off the plane. I wish I could have the gotten the names of the female and male agents at the gate and the male flight attendant. Mahalo, Hawaiian Air.

Dear Matt,
Hawaiian Airlines thanks you for acknowledging the efforts of its staff to make you more comfortable. Your Kauai flight angels were chief agent Patrick Aviguetero and CSA Jerilyn Alalem.
Aloha Pamela,
My son and I were traveling north on Nimitz in the Kalihi area. The lady in the next lane waved me down to tell me I had a flat tire. I quickly made a right turn into the first driveway, which was Hawaii Hardwood Flooring. A person by the name of Pat came to my aid without hesitation. Not only did he fill my tire with air, he also found the culprit: a nail. He also told me to take the tire to Costco because he noticed the green stem valve cover that is indicative of Costco’s work. It’s rare to find so much aloha these days. Mahalo to Pat: You’re an angel to my son and me.

Dear Lesley,
Hawaii Hardwood Flooring project manager Pat Von says it was like old times assisting you with your flat tire. “I worked at a gas station when I was in school,” he says, “so it was no trouble to get her on the road again.”
Hi Pamela,
I would like to give a big mahalo to the staff at Leahi Swim School in Manoa for their first aid and assistance provided to our 2-year-old daughter, who tripped and fell on her way to watch her older sister’s swimming lesson. She had a small cut that bled enough to freak her out a bit, and one young female staff member in particular was very helpful in calming our daughter, cleaning her cut, applying an ice pack to the bump and providing a Band-Aid. The young lady also advised my wife to watch out for any signs of a concussion or other effects from a head injury. Fortunately, after conferring with our family doctor, our daughter was fine and back to her normal self upon returning home. In all of the excitement, my wife forgot to get the young lady’s name at Leahi. Thank you so much for your kindness and concern.

Dear David,
“This is what we do,” says Leahi Swim School owner Lori Komer. “Keeping people safe is what the school is all about. Shelley Jones was the staff member who assisted the Teradas. She, as well as 90 percent of our teachers, are certified lifeguards, trained in first aid and CPR. In our 36 years of operation, we’ve had to be prepared for everything, even AED and administering oxygen.”
