Please help me give APPLAUSE to three incredible personnel of Securitas, the security company assigned to the Island Air baggage area at Honolulu Airport: Reynaldo Morales, Amado Cabalo and their supervisor, Douglas Lopez.
My husband Dave and I flew back from Kapalua. Driving home I realized my watch was missing. We headed back to the airport and, as soon as we got there, these three gentlemen showed me my watch! Reynaldo found it on top of the rubbish can and turned it over to Amado, and they were about to take it to lost and found when we arrived. I couldn’t believe it. I am so impressed with the honesty and dignity of these wonderful men. Congratulations to Securitas for hiring honest individuals. More power to your company!

Securitas Airport manager Fred Robello intends to recognize Reynaldo, Amado and Douglas during the company formation that starts each shift. “One of the things we’re trained to do is give security with aloha,” he says. “The safety and well-being of the passengers are our goals, but the aloha spirit is dispensed along the way. This is a typical example of how our people do a little more than just be security officers. “

This letter is far too overdue. A few months ago I was parked at Ala Moana Beach park for a day of surfing. After surfing, I returned to find my truck had a note attached and the front of it was smashed. Signed on a lengthy apology was the signature of a young man named Keoki. He stated that he accidentally ran his moped into my truck and wanted to pay for all the damages. The total cost of repairs was well over $1,000, of which Keoki paid every cent. I wanted everyone to know that honesty is still alive and well in our islands. Mahalo, Keoki.

“I was at the beach surfing when one of my friends showed up with a moped,” says Hawaiian Airlines flight attendant and Pacific Bible College student Keoki Liftee-Kau. “I asked if I could ride it and ended up crashing it into Kent’s truck. We waited for half an hour, but Kent was out surfing, so I left a note. I knew I could get away with it if I did nothing, but God wouldn’t let me get away with it. I’ve had people bump and scrape my car and leave the scene, and I gotta tell you, it’s a horrible feeling. I wouldn’t want anyone to go through that.”
