Rescuing A Pair Of Pooches

I love reading Applause and thought I’d share this with you.
Early one morning at the Mililani Tech Park, my friend and I saw two dogs running loose through the streets. We stopped and tried to catch them so they wouldn’t be injured, and were able to get one (blackand-white Australian cattle dog) to come up to us. We tied her to a tree and started to look for her partner, a chubby brown-and-white Chihuahua. That became a very difficult task, as she was afraid and ran away from us. To the rescue came a man (I’m sad to say I did not get his name) in his Oceanic truck, who stayed with us until he was able to get the Chihuahua to trust him. The dog adored him and he was able to secure her and keep her safe. He even went back to Oceanic to ask a co-worker who loves dogs if she would be willing to take them if we are not able to find their owners! He stayed with us until he knew the dogs were taken care of. As he already has five dogs of his own; he’s not able to adopt two more. I want to thank that gentleman for all his help and am so appreciative for the kindness and love he has for animals. I wish there were more people like him in this world. Without his help, we would not have been successful in saving them.
I did take the two dogs to the Hawaii Humane Society in the backseat of my car. Within five minutes, the Chihuahua moved up to the front seat and found her way on my lap and fell asleep on her way into town. Her partner sat upright in the back seat making sure she was safe. I do hope they will be reunited with their owners. I did, however, do a “finders want,” which means they will contact me if the owners choose not to claim their animals. Both dogs love and need each other and should be adopted together.

Aloha Pamela,
I was crippled and in pain when I faced a complete knee replacement. Today I am walking better with no pain. Dr. Rasmussen sent flowers to me and all her patients, which made us feel special.
Each day a luncheon and dinner were given for us, to which families and friends were invited as guests. My sincere thanks to Dr. Rasmussen and the wonderful and dedicated people at Castle Medical Center. God bless them all!

Dr. Linda Rasmusen says you’re part of the family now. “We try to make every experience pleasant,” she says. “We’ve been doing knee replacements for 14 years now, and it’s a wonderful program. If Catherine felt like family, then we accomplished our goal.”
