Roadbuilders To The Rescue

Aloha Pamela,
Recently my friend’s truck was stolen from the Waipio Outback parking lot. Inside were custom T-shirts and rubber bracelets designed to raise money for my husband’s unit, 3-25 Aviation Regiment “Hammerheads,” an Army unit out of Wheeler Army Airfield that has been stationed in Iraq for 11 months.
Aside from stripping the truck, the thieves stole the T-shirts and bracelets, valued at approximately $3,000. The money from the sale of these items was supposed to go toward a grand welcome home gala for our soldiers and their families, to be held in October.
Roadbuilders Corporation owner, Jade Richardson, heard of our plight and donated $3,000 to cover the entire amount of our loss. Her generosity and support of our troops and their families is an incredible testament to the spirit of aloha, which is alive and well in our corporate community. We are honored to consider Roadbuilders as lifelong members of our Hammerhead ohana.
On behalf of the 600-plus soldiers (and their families) who make up 3-25 Aviation, I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the generous donation made by Roadbuilders. We are extremely grateful for their support and want them to receive the recognition they deserve. This is one local business that has truly answered the call. May they serve as role models to all of us. Mahalo nui loa, Roadbuilders!

Dear Joan,
Jade Richardson says she and her partners at Roadbuilders just wanted to make it right. “We do a lot of work with the military and we support what they do for us,” she says. “We didn’t do it for publicity or to be recognized, we just wanted to replace what they had lost.”
Dear Pamela,
I would like to express my great thanks to Lynnette Reid from the State Farm Insurance Company in Kailua. I went to State Farm hoping to buy some travel insurance to cover my airfare for a trip in August. She told me that they did not sell travel insurance, but I could get it online. When I told her that I only had a small computer that did mostly e-mail, she went online and helped me fill out an application and even printed out my policy and confirmation sheet. When I tried to pay her for her time or at least the paper she had used, she said, “No. I’m just living up to our motto. You know: ‘Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.‘I’m just being a good neighbor.”
State Farm should be proud to have such a helpful employee, who definitely lives up to their motto. That’s what this country needs: more good neighbors.

Dear Rita,
Multiple line representative Lynette Reid says the good neighbor attitude is not just a part of State Farm’s policy, it’s also her mantra as an individual.
“First of all, I love people,” she says. “Second, I love helping people. If it’s in my power or resources, I always try to extend a helping hand.”
