Saving Two Dogs At The Last Minute

Dear Pamela,

Because of a housing situation, we had to give up our two 9-year-old dogs. I couldn’t find a rescue haven to take them, and it seemed the only solution was to put them down. I was so devasted that all I did was cry. We had Pua since she was 8 weeks old, Simon since he was 9 months old. We took them to the vet and were waiting in the front when an “angel” came in to pick up his two dogs. Tears were running down my face. When our name was called, my husband went in first with Simon. My angel asked, “What’s the matter?” I told him and he said, no, you can’t do that. He offered to take them if we didn’t mind them living in Acadia, Calif. I yelled to my husband, wait! I couldn’t stop crying, I thought it was a dream.

This angel saved three lives, for if I had to put down my dogs I wouldn’t have wanted to live anymore. His name is Robert Randall.

Dear Amy,

Robert Randall was still in the Islands when we called. “I just had to take them. Amy was crying in the waiting room and I knew how painful it must have been. I have two other dogs, and since we’re relocating to California, I thought I might as well ship four dogs over. Pua and Simon are wonderful dogs and they get along with my two dogs. In fact, they all crowd into my bed at night!”

Aloha Pamela,

I’d like to give a round of APPLAUSE to the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani. My dear friend Rose, whom I haven’t seen in eight years, came to Honolulu in June. She and her other friends made reservations for the Sheraton Waikiki luau and asked if I could join them. Immediately I called, and Jo Ann at the reservations desk said it was rather late to reserve a couple of seats as the food needed to be ordered and prepared. She put me on hold and checked with the chef. When she came back on the phone, she said she could fit us in. Whew! I was so happy that I’d be able to spend some time with my friend, and that it all worked out in the end.

On my way to the luau, I ran into another friend, Kehau, who works with Sheraton Hotels. I took a couple of minutes to share my reservations story with her. She told me she was glad it all worked out, and that I’d have a great time at the Tihati production Creation - A Polynesian Journey.

The food was great, and it was an excellent show. My friends enjoyed the entire experience and especially how much the dancers were into their performance. I enjoyed being able to share the joy with my friends who said they had the best time.

Thank you to all the professionals at the Sheraton, especially Jo Ann, Kehau and the chef. Here’s to more aloha in the future of the state of Hawaii.

Dear Linda,

Kehau Kam is so happy you enjoyed Tihati’s show. “I recommend Creation to everyone. This show brings you back through history to the time of our ancestors. I’m glad Linda was able to see it with her friends.”
